Bodybalance Osteopathy

We are osteopaths who pride ourselves on listening.

That’s why our initial consultations are a little longer than you may be used to. We’ve found that giving our patient’s more time to explain at the start, helps us get to the root cause of a problem more quickly.

We ask lots of questions to really understand the problem in detail. We use the patient’s description of their discomfort to make sure we thoroughly understand their injury in order to then tailor the most effective treatment and rehabilitation plan.

In our experience this methodical, scientific approach works.

Many of our patients have had aches and pains for years, and have come to accept them as permanent. Time and time again we have come up with new solutions, and successfully treated and rehabilitated them.

JH, St Albans, says

My back had been sore for years, and I hadn’t slept properly for a decade, possibly more. After just one session with Body Balance I was pain-free, and was moving more easily than I had for years.

Medical Acupuncture

Medical acupuncture is a procedure in which a thin filament needle is inserted into the skin and muscle directly towards myofascial
trigger point.

Osteopathy

Everybody knows that osteopaths deal with backs. That’s true. But we do more than that. Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a vast range of
medical conditions.

Gait Analysis

Gait Analysis is the assessment of the way in which you move when walking or running from one foot to the other.
It is known as the gait cycle.

Kinesiology tape has become an increasingly common sight, worn by many athletes and sporting professionals.

Sports Massage

Sport and day to day activities can often leave you feeling achey. Speeding up your recovery, reducing tension and improving performance are just some of the benefits you’ll get from booking a sports massage with us.

Corporate Wellness

Musculoskeletal disorders are the most common reason people miss work in the UK, costing in excess of £5 billion per year. By improving musculoskeletal issues, body balance will maximise the performance of the workforce which can only mean great things for the company itself.

Osteopathy

We offer treatment for the whole body and a range of conditions but below you will find a few common conditions we treat, to see our full range of services please see our services page or to discuss please contact us.

Arm & Hands

At Body Balance your practitioner can help provide relief from these symptoms with simple; soft tissue stretches, joint mobilisation and specific exercises.

The knee

The knee joint is the largest joint in the body. It is referred to as a hinge joint. It is a load bearing joint frequently injured.

Hip & Pelvis

Pain in the hip and pelvic region could be due to simple wear and tear as well as the more commonly know cause, arthritis.

Foot & Ankle

Our feet have the complex task of guiding us through/up/down/across all sorts of different terrains and surfaces to allow us to move as freely as possible to get from A to B.

The Back

The knee joint is the largest joint in the body. It is referred to as a hinge joint. It is a load bearing joint frequently injured.

The Shoulder

The shoulder is one of the most mobile joints in the body. That’s very useful as it allows us to move our hand freely in space and reach up high.
